The development of 203 new houses in the Muirton area of Perth includes 102 affordable homes for Caledonia Housing Association and 101 for private sale, completing the final phases of the regeneration masterplan for the district.
In a regeneration project spanning over a decade, our appointment as private development partner in 2016 saw us work in partnership with Calendonia Housing Association to deliver high-quality, affordable homes and realise the long-term regeneration objectives for the Muirton community. The development creates a vibrant area where people want to live and are proud to be part of.
The area had suffered from poor standards of housing for decades so working with locals to ensure their views and needs were reflected in the design and and layout of new homes was key. The development provides 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom properties, each with private or shared garden, alongside attractive outdoor space and car parking. Using a fabric-first approach, all homes are well insulated and energy efficient, a priority for new tenants and home owners.
This new high-quality, affordable social housing will be a valuable asset to the area, contributing much-needed social accommodation and also bringing more vibrancy to the community.
