Robertson constructed two student residences in this £31.6m design and build project in Aberdeen. The new development blocks – situated on opposite sides of the road – offer 618 much-needed bedrooms in a city attracting UK and overseas students.
The residences, operated by Student Roost, offer stylish high-quality accommodation and on-site amenities for students from the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University. Spacious common rooms, a rooftop terrace and courtyard encourage social interaction and student wellbeing.
Watch our short film to take a tour and hear what the people working and living in Pittodrie Street Student Accommodation have to say about the new development.
FAST FACTS
“We’ve had nothing but outstanding feedback from our students. I can safely say that this is the best student accommodation in Aberdeen.”
The main university campus is a 13-minute walk from the residences, Aberdeen Sports Village a 6-minute walk and 250 bike rack spaces have been installed to encourage cycling.
The Robertson team were involved in various activities with the local community, including donations for local nurseries and charities; providing learning opportunities to Robert Gordon University Students and careers guidance to St Machar academy pupils.
For Aberdeen Science Centre’s Summer of Engineering, we held ‘Robertson Family days’ events. The aim was to entice the next generation into the construction industry. It was a huge success with over 400 people through the door over the two days and over 27 activities that took place.
In addition, our contract for the supply of mattresses for the project gave security and support to Glencraft, a social enterprise that provides employment for visually impaired people.
