Robertson held its inaugural ‘Catalysts Conference’ in Edinburgh last week, bringing together 80 of our employees aged between 16-28 from across the company. The conference was designed to inspire, encourage and challenge attendees, provide information on how they can take control of their own development and career path and to give them a voice within the organisation.

A range of inspirational speakers helped galvanise the group throughout the day, who focused on key themes of digital technology, innovation and sustainability. The conference comes just months after we were awarded Investors in Young People Gold in recognition of how we attract, develop and retain future generations. We also have Investors in People Gold and is one of only 26 employers who have achieved Gold in both schemes.

Speakers at the event – which was held at Dynamic Earth – included social entrepreneur and co-founder of Social Bite Josh Littlejohn MBE, mountaineer and adventurer Mollie Hughes and founder of Dare2Lead John Loughton.

Attendees were also able to meet the Robertson Group Board and participate in a challenge workshop designed to seek new ideas and solutions that could support the company going forward.

Alex Wells, Bid Communications Manager at Robertson Facilities Management, who travelled from Newcastle to attend, said: “It was really good day and I left feeling energised and proud to be part of Team Robertson. Having the Board in attendance shows their commitment to young people and it was great to learn more about them and the work they do. It really shows how invested they are, and reiterated the limitless possibilities within this business.”
