Robertson awarded top honour by Ministry of Defence for employee recognition

Robertson Group has been awarded Gold in the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme, the Ministry of Defence’s highest level of recognition for employers that demonstrate outstanding support for the armed forces community.

The Gold Award recognises organisations that go above and beyond their Armed Forces Covenant pledges to support serving personnel, reservists, veterans, cadets and military families through employment, policies and wider community engagement.

The achievement marks a significant milestone for Robertson, which has progressed from Bronze in 2023 (when it signed the Armed Forces Covenant), to Silver in 2025 and now Gold in just three years.

Since achieving Silver status last year, Robertson has continued to strengthen its commitment to the armed forces community, contributing to the delivery of one of the eight key themes in its social impact strategy: creating opportunities for underrepresented groups.

The business has introduced the Armed Forces Covenant to supply chain partners, enhancing policies for reservists and increasing awareness of the support available across the business.

Robertson has also supported regional cadet and veterans’ organisations through technology donations, worked with the Career Transition Partnership at recruitment events to promote career opportunities for service leavers, and continued to highlight the contribution of colleagues with military backgrounds across its communications channels.

Elliot Robertson, Chief Executive Officer, Robertson Group said: “Receiving the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Employer Recognition Scheme Award reflects the commitment shown across Robertson to supporting the armed forces community. Since achieving Silver status, we have continued to expand the opportunities and support available to reservists, cadets, veterans and military families, while also strengthening our wider support for the armed forces community through partnerships that help veterans access wellbeing support and employment opportunities. The experience, resilience and leadership they bring make a real difference to our teams, and we remain committed to creating rewarding career opportunities for people with military connections."

Alongside providing employment opportunities for the armed forces community, Robertson has delivered major projects that support the UK’s defence infrastructure, including accommodation for RAF personnel, facilities for the Royal Navy’s Type 31 frigate programme and the Atlantic Building for Boeing on behalf of Defence Equipment & Support.
