Constructing a world class distillery and visitor centre
Robertson completed a flagship £140 million distillery and visitor experience for The Macallan, one of the world's leading luxury single malts. To bring Edrington’s and Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners’ vision to life, Robertson took the complex and unique architectural design and delivered it to complement an area of outstanding natural beauty. This challenging build saw us apply all of our technical skills, innovation and expertise to create a seamless connection to the surrounding countryside.
Distillery expansion without disrupting operations
In addition to our distillery construction experience, we have completed numerous refurbishment projects to increase capacity, improve operational flow, or upgrade and improve the varied infrastructure that is critical to the process of producing whisky.
For example, we renovated the remote Glen Ord distillery to develop its production scale, following a substantial increase in demand for the company’s product. Working in a live environment, the project was conducted with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
We also expanded the Bunnahabhain distillery to include a visitor centre, attracting whisky lovers from around the world to Islay.
