Summary
Timber frame for a £37m integrated healthcare centre
The Stirling Health and Care Village integrated health, social and residential care services for the first time in Scotland, making it easier for staff to work together to deliver joined-up care.
Completed in 2019, the 11,427 m2 development brings together a wide range of health and social services in two purpose-built facilities — a 100-bed Care Hub to support short-term care, a Primary and Urgent Care Centre with facilities for minor injuries, X-rays and GP out-of-hours, GP and Minor Injuries Centre, an outpatience centre and a base for the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Prefabricated timber frame improves efficiency
Robertson Timber Engineering designed, supplied and installed 10,962m2 of prefabricated open panel timber frame, floor cassettes and roof trusses for the project.
The use of prefabricated timber frame helped improve programme efficiency, with panels, floor cassettes and roof trusses manufactured off site and installed efficiently on site by our erection teams.
This approach also provided the quality and programme certainty thanks to factory-controlled conditions for quality-controlled manufacture.
