During improvement works

Robertson upgraded the facilities at London Road Police Station, located in the East End of Glasgow.
Police Scotland had planned a programme of work to remodel, refurbish and upgrade the ground floor of London Road Police Station, which covers the north east of Glasgow as well as East Dunbartonshire.

Key facts

  • New staff office and meeting rooms.
  • Reception and canteen refurbishment.
  • New charge bar area.
  • Overnight cells.

Full M&E services upgrade, including:

  • LTHW & domestic water systems
  • Air conditioning
  • Thermal insulation and ventilation
  • Lighting, fire, security
  • Affray system
  • CCTV, door access and data systems

A live environment: keeping vital police services running

The existing ground floor was fully decanted to temporary cabins to allow the refurbishment work to take place. The car park, first floor and second floor will remain live during the works.

To assure vital police services are not interrupted during the project, we took a detailed approach to planning logistics, which was determined through site visits and a diligent methodology.

Social value to benefit the community

The project was procured through Scape Scotland, a leading public sector procurement authority. Scape Scotland is dedicated to creating spaces, places and experiences that leave a sustainable legacy, whilst enriching the local economy across Scotland.
