The project was procured through Scape Group’s National Major Works Framework and was delivered by Robertson in partnership with Willmott Dixon. (This framework has since been superseded by Major Works Scotland, part of Scape’s National Construction framework.)

Scape Group is a public sector owned built environment specialist offering a full suite of national frameworks and innovative design solutions.

Remediation of contaminated ground

Robertson Civil Engineering carried out the groundworks and concrete works on the project. Prior to commencing, substantial levels of contamination were highlighted, and a detailed remediation plan was created.

Providing new facilities

The new community centre, packed with adaptable, community-friendly features, has been built by Robertson Tayside in front of the existing community facilities. There is a sports area, a youth room, a library and community multi-purpose rooms and areas, complete with a café. The largest aspect of the campus is the sports area, with two sports halls, both equipped with electronic scoreboards for all sports, and one with electrically operated basketball nets that can drop down at the touch of a button.

Future plans

This is the third of the Council’s developments to regenerate the facilities available to this community, all procured through Scape frameworks and delivered with Robertson. Work has previously included the new Tayview Primary School and Menzieshill Community Gardens.
