Sanctuary Homes has delivered the project at Park Crescent, which features 23 houses, 20 cottage flats and a bungalow.

The homes have been constructed on the site of the former Campbell Hospital, which is now situated in Banff, by Sanctuary’s contractor Robertson Partnership Homes.

All of the homes are being made available to local residents for social rent.

Gillian Laverty, Sanctuary’s development director – Scotland, commented: “We are delighted to complete this exciting development which will provide much needed high-quality affordable housing for the local community.

“The work strengthens our existing housing portfolio in Portsoy and we now look forward to welcoming residents into their new homes.”

Sarah Freel, partnerships director at Robertson Partnership Homes, said: “This is our first design and build project with Sanctuary and despite construction works being undertaken during these uncertain times we have delivered high quality homes that will stand the test of time.

“Through the delivery of this development for Sanctuary we have been able to support the objectives of Aberdeenshire Council’s strategic housing investment plan and are pleased to have helped improve the area’s affordable housing stock.”

As part of wider work in the community, improvements have also been made to the town’s Murray Place play park.

The project was supported with a £3.9 million grant from the Scottish Government and is a welcome addition to the 18 properties already managed by Sanctuary Scotland in Portsoy.
