Once complete, the £55 million Community Campus will be home to Inverurie Academy and St Andrew's School, and will provide extensive community sports and leisure facilities, including a six-lane swimming pool, a multi-use games area and two all-weather pitches. The facilities will used by both the schools and the local community and will be a much valued space.
Bill Robertson said: "We were very pleased to welcome the First Minister to Inverurie Community Campus to get a first-hand view at the state-of-the-art complex that we and our partners at Aberdeenshire Council and hub North Scotland are delivering.
"As one of the largest school construction projects in Scotland, it will provide modern education, sports and community facilities for the area and is another milestone for Robertson in our delivery of contemporary, fit-for-purpose education projects."
Following the visit by the First Minister, the project team hosted 425 members of the local community for an Open Doors Event over the weekend of 12th and 13th October 2019.
The Open Doors Event provided a unique opportunity for the local community to see construction progress and an opportunity to learn more about the design of the project and how it will integrate into the community when fully complete.
Our construction partners, Hub North and Aberdeenshire Council, joined the Robertson team to host the event.
Following the weekend, John MacLeod, Project manager for Aberdeenshire Council contacted the team to say "Before it passes us by, I would just like to say a huge thank you on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council to all of the Robertson team at Inverurie Community Campus involved in organising such a successful Open Doors event this weekend.
We really appreciate the work that went into making this event such a success, and particularly the staff that gave up a huge chunk of their weekend to show our stakeholders and users around the facilities."
