Summary
Integrating local healthcare services
The Stirling Health and Care Village integrates health, social and residential care services for the first time in Scotland, making it easier for staff to work together to deliver joined-up care.
The 11,427 m2 development brings together a wide range of health and social services in two purpose-built facilities — a 100-bed Care Hub to support short-term care and a Primary and Urgent Care Centre with facilities for minor injuries, X-rays and GP out-of-hours.
The development includes a new GP and Minor Injuries Centre, the Bellfield Centre (which provides short-term care, rehabilitation and assessments), a refurbished outpatient centre and a new base for the Scottish Ambulance Service which has relocated from its previous site in the Riverside area of the city.
Striking artwork has been incorporated throughout the building along with high ceilings and large windows to create a light, stimulating and welcoming environment.
