Meeting demand in a bustling student centre

On a tight city centre site, the new accommodation will serve the busy student population of Sheffield.
Empiric Student Property's developer, Galliard Homes, appointed Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands to construct it.

The city is popular for study, with a total student population of over 55,000 across The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.
The scheme comprises a combination of studios, 'super studios' and self-contained two-bedroom apartments totalling 128 beds over seven storeys, on a tight city centre site.
Portobello House sits within the University of Sheffield campus, near to the Sir Robert Hadfield and Amy Johnson buildings.
It is within easy walking distance from the main University, is half a mile from Sheffield Hallam University and is located right next to Sheffield train station.

On-site facilities

The building was finished to a high specification with detailing such as acoustic glazing appropriate to the nature of the city centre location.
It also has the facilities expected by today's students such as on-site cinema room, games and common room, private gym, laundry, study room and CCTV.
