Workspaces that deliver for North Lanarkshire's start-up businesses
The fourteen modern start-up units near Motherwell town centre support North Lanarkshire Council’s ambition to boost business growth and employment in the area – part of a wider regeneration strategy.
Appointed to design and build three new blocks with 14 workshops, the project will see the Robertson team – in partnership with hub South West – transform 4,689 m2 of brownfield land into high-quality, accessible and affordable industrial accommodation for local people to start or grow a business.
Businesses moving into the new units will have access to a range of marketing, employability and entrepreneurial support through the council. Additionally, one of the units will be the base for an entrepreneurship partnership with New College Lanarkshire, providing rent-free accommodation and grants to support students to establish new businesses.
- 3 single-storey, metal clad blocks ranging from 255m2 to 537m2.
- 14 workshop units.
- Electric vehicle charging.
- Car parking, service installations and landscaping.
The site is surrounded on either side by industrial units, a car garage and fire station. With space restricted, deliveries are being managed on a 'just in time' basis and robust traffic management is in place to ensure minimal impact on the existing local traffic.
