Inspiring college students to develop their careers
Students from The City of Liverpool College visited the site during construction where Robertson took them through the scope of the project and progress so far, explaining the programming, challenges faced and the various construction elements of the build. Several of our subcontractors attended The City of Liverpool College to provide industry insights to trade students, including joiners, bricklayers and M&E trades. Robertson employees including a Design Manager, Site Managers and Engineers also visited to inspire the students about their professional construction roles and responsibilities.
Supporting the local supply chain
The Robertson team engaged with local small to medium sub-contractors, involved in the project to provide upskilling advice sessions including constructive feedback on tender submissions, how to get onto the supply chain and method statement writing. This upskilling advice helps to build on their knowledge and experience working with main contractors, ideally leading to more secured work for our supply chain. This engagement increased awareness and understanding regarding the value of an inclusive workforce and developed knowledge of good diversity and inclusion practice in the workplace.
