Summary
Off-site manufacturing to add speed, efficiency and quality
Robertson Timber Engineering is manufacturing supplying and erecting a closed panel build system featuring pre-installed windows and doors for the new mixed use regeneration project in Elgin’s South Street. The closed panel timber systems will be used to quickly and efficiently erect 38 residential flats and three retail units.
This build system will be fully manufactured at our Elgin timber frame factory and delivered direct to site. Our experienced installation teams will install the timber frame, with the use of large cranes which are required to move the panels and roof sections into position on the tight town centre site.
Our team’s skills and expertise in logistics and safety will be key to the success of this landmark project.

Closed panels with pre-installed windows and doors
The timber frame will be manufactured and supplied to site with windows and doors installed in factory conditions – which is quicker and more efficient than working on site. Working within a controlled manufacturing environment, quality is also improved as is speed of delivery and build.
Procurement type and benefit
The project is part of the Elgin City Centre Masterplan for transformative regeneration of the town, and is a partnership between Moray Council, Robertson Property, Moray Growth Deal and UHI Moray. Three of our Robertson businesses involved all playing a key part in the project: Robertson Property, Robertson Timber Engineering and Robertson Construction Northern.
“This milestone marks an important step toward the transformation of South Street, fostering local employment and driving economic growth. As a company founded in Elgin, we are deeply connected to this community, and it’s especially meaningful for us to collaborate with Moray Council, and UHI Moray to bring this ambitious vision to life.”
