Customer-focused facilities management service
The Centre for Health Science is a multi-disciplinary facility for training all kinds of healthcare professions in next-generation techniques. It is a vibrant hub for the health science community in the north of Scotland, which demands high-quality FM services.
Robertson delivered services supporting the Centre’s various tenants and visitors for 18 years, successfully retaining the FM contract four times, from the building's opening in 2006 until 2024.
FM services provided
Robertson FM provided hard and soft FM services, including energy management and monitoring, reception and minor works services in support of customer variations.
We provided planned and reactive property maintenance services, which included fabric maintenance ranging from joinery work and decorating to minor works.
A local team partnering with local suppliers
Throughout these contracts, we employed as many staff as possible locally, and used local businesses for the supply of goods and materials on our projects in the north of Scotland.
Robertson maintains long-term relationships with suppliers who serve our various contracts around Scotland and as a result, we were able to install a new bespoke room booking software procured from a local business.
Our approach also reduces carbon miles as suppliers deliver in one trip.
Working in partnership to prioritise safety
Over the contract period, our Contract Manager introduced health and safety forums and joint client liaison meetings that supported the needs of the Centre's diverse customer base.
Each customer has different needs and we have developed an open consultative approach to managing maintenance, where a high degree of coordination, co-operation and lateral thinking is required.
