Summary
Bramhall High School RAAC refurbishment
Robertson Construction North West has carried out rebuilding works at Bramhall High School to strengthen or remove RAAC (reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete) panels from the building.
The school has reopened after having to close parts of the main building in 2023 after RAAC was found, with students learning in temporary buildings since then.

Vital works to ensure safety
Robertson managed the supply and installation of fail-safe timber supports for RAAC planks, as well as overseeing other contractors working on behalf of Stockport. The project was divided into three phases, with initial work focused on the dining hall, kitchens, library and science labs.
Procurement route
The project was procured through a new main contract direct awarded to Robertson, following the successful delivery of Romiley Theatre.
Project funding
The UK Department for Education made funding available for 234 schools across the country to help rebuild to remove RAAC, with Stockport Council securing funding for Bramhall High School from this School Rebuilding Programme.
