Robertson recognised for ‘highest standards in health and safety’

Robertson Group has been recognised once again for its commitment to workplace health and safety, retaining top honours at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) awards ceremony in London earlier this week.

Both Robertson Construction Group and Robertson Facilities Management (RFM) achieved the RoSPA Gold Award – an international mark of excellence that recognises high standards in workplace health and safety. The awards assess overall safety management, leadership, workforce engagement, and continuous improvement.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Robertson Construction Group has received the Gold Award – a result of the consistent commitment to health and safety shared across its eight regional businesses and reflected in the safe delivery of high-quality projects. The achievement qualifies the business for the RoSPA Gold Medal, awarded for sustained performance over multiple years.

These international awards also highlight the comprehensive approach Robertson takes to safety, health, environment and wellbeing. The company’s strategy ensures best-in-class standards are maintained to protect and support everyone involved in operations.

In addition to achieving RoSPA Gold, RFM recently reached a milestone of more than 6.5 million collective employee hours worked without a single RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) incident across its contracts.

Elliot Robertson, Chief Executive Officer, Robertson Group, commented: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, customers, supply chain and anyone involved in or impacted by our work remains our top priority. Achieving RoSPA Gold Awards recognises this and reflects our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest health and safety standards across all our operations. It also highlights the ongoing dedication of our teams to building a culture where safety is embedded in every aspect of our work.

“We understand that true success means ensuring that every person involved in our projects, whether employees, supply chain partners or visitors, goes home safe at the end of each day. This drives everything we do, from rigorous training and clear communication to continuous monitoring and improvement of our safety practices.

“These accolades are testament to the hard work, vigilance and professionalism of our people, whose commitment ensures we consistently meet and exceed industry expectations. Being recognised among the leaders in health and safety excellence further motivates us to uphold these high standards and seek continuous improvement in all that we do.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, said: “Robertson should be proud of the hard work and commitment to keeping people safe that has resulted in a RoSPA Award, which honours those organisations who have achieved the highest standards in health and safety in the workplace.

“RoSPA regards Robertson as a strong example of the importance of making accident prevention central to any successful organisation, not just for the benefit of employees, customers and clients, but also society as a whole.”

The awards this week build on the prestigious RoSPA International Dilmun Environmental Award last year for demonstrating best practice in environmental sustainability management. ISO 14001 accreditation is held, and Robertson became one of the first UK businesses in the built environment to achieve carbon neutrality in 2018 before cutting emissions intensity by 63% and reaching 'climate positive' status ahead of its 2030 Net Zero goal.
