Robertson formalises partnership with MCR Pathways mentoring charity
Robertson Group has formalised a new strategic partnership with MCR Pathways, the national charity that supports young people realise their potential through its award-winning mentoring programme across schools, further education and community settings.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two organisations and will see Robertson further its support for young people by helping them overcome barriers, navigate challenges and achieve better outcomes in education and employment.
As part of the partnership, Robertson will provide opportunities for employees to become mentors, raise awareness of MCR Pathways’ work across its business and supply chain, support fundraising activities and offer in-kind contributions. It will also build on MCR Pathways’ mentoring programme with supported work experience placements.
MCR Pathways was founded in 2007 on the belief that a young person’s potential and aspirations should define them, not their circumstances.
Working across Scotland and, since 2021, in parts of England, the charity provides young people with consistent support from mentors and access to opportunities that raise aspirations and opens up future pathways.
The collaboration reflects the Robertson 2030 Responsible Business Strategy and wider ESG commitments, which include enhancing lives, creating social value, and supporting community wealth building.
Elliot Robertson, Chief Executive Officer, Robertson Group, said: “Mentoring has the power to change lives. Partnering with MCR Pathways allows us to make a tangible difference for young people while also supporting the communities that are at the heart of our business. This collaboration is another step in our commitment to delivering positive impact through our people, our projects, and our partnerships.”
Sharon McIntyre, Chief Executive Officer, MCR Pathways, said: “We are absolutely delighted to partner with Robertson Group, an organisation that shares our unwavering commitment to supporting young people in communities across the UK. Together, we can amplify our impact, reach even more young people who need our support, and create lasting change.”
The partnership also builds on the long-standing connection between Robertson and MCR Pathways, with Graeme Hannah, the Group’s Director of Sustainability & Social Impact, serving as a Trustee of the charity.
The Robertson 2030 Responsible Business Strategy sets out ambitious targets to enhance 10,000 lives, create £1 billion of social value, and support inclusive economic growth. The new partnership with MCR Pathways will contribute to achieving these objectives which will create a long-term legacy that benefits individuals, communities, and the wider economy.
