Celebrating Yorkshire Day 2019
Since summer 2015, Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands has delivered – or is currently working on – over £100m in projects. On 1st August, we’re giving a nod to the business on ‘Yorkshire Day’.
This comes in recognition of over £100m worth of work that has been completed by the business in the historic county in Northern England.
Join us as we walk you through an impressive list of construction projects Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands has already delivered and the projects this side of the business is currently working on...
Hampton by Hilton, Leeds
Heeton Holdings appointed Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands to deliver a new property by major hotel chain, Hampton by Hilton. This comprises the first phase of the Bridge Street regeneration project in Leeds, being developed by a consortium of Singapore-listed companies led by Heeton Holdings.
The 14-storey, 192-bed hotel includes meeting rooms, a conference venue, a gym, a bar and a restaurant and car park. The regeneration scheme will create a new urban destination on the 2.45-acre site and transform the Leeds skyline.
On top of the work Robertson already does in the community, we were thrilled to be offered the chance to add to this with this James House project in York.
The Yorkshire & East Midlands side of the business was contracted by the City of York Council to turn the former office building into a 57-apartment, temporary homeless accommodation for people who find themselves without a home.
It will feature different size units to suit all variations of vulnerable households with one, two and three-bedroom flats for families, couples and single people.
The Broadway Bradford
Continuing the work that had already been delivered to regenerate Bradford City Centre, Robertson Yorkshire and East Midlands was appointed by Meyer Bergman to build the Broadway Bradford.
Our team constructed the shell and core for a boutique cinema and restaurant scheme on the site of the old BAE Building near the Broadway shopping centre in the centre of Bradford.
Isobel Bowler Sports Ground
It's not often you get to play a part in the Football Association's investment in grassroots football. But this was the case on the £4.4m Isobel Bowler Sports Ground pavilion in Sheffield.
Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands was contracted by Sheffield City Council to construct the project in two main areas featuring a main building and a 124-space car park with disabled access.
Samuel Tuke Apartments
After being appointed by Harrison Developments, Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands set about delivering a new, 115-bedroom, four-storey student accommodation building on Lawrence Street in York.
Featuring one, two, three and five-bedroom apartments and clusters, the introduction of student accommodation in the area resulted in traditional housing being readily available for local families.
Portobello House Student Accommodation
The second of our student accommodation developments in Yorkshire, the £6.2m Portobello House project in Sheffield was completed on a tight construction site within the city centre.
With more than 55,000 students attending educational establishments across the popular city in the north of England, Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands built the 128-bed studios, 'super studios' and self-contained two-bedroom apartments within the University of Sheffield campus.
Goldthorpe Primary School
Our Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands team designed and built the £4.3m Goldthorpe Primary School for 3–11-year-old pupils in Goldthorpe. The project was completed for the NPS Group, who were delivering the project for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council in South Yorkshire.
With an 11-classroom, 330-place school – featuring 26 places for nursery pupils – the school was built with the ability to add a further three classrooms for 90 pupils in future if required. During construction, the site team pulled out all the stops to bring lasting value to the community.
With many more projects currently in the pipeline, the celebration of Robertson Yorkshire & East Midlands is far from over.
