Refurbishing a walled garden for veterans

Robertson has supported the refurbishment of Cyrenians' Linburn Walled Garden near Edinburgh, an outdoor hub that supports veterans, their families and the wider community.

Cyrenians has been working in partnership as part of the Scottish Veterans Wellbeing Alliance, hosted by NHS Lothian and funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Trust Fund, to develop the Linburn Walled Garden into a safe and welcoming space.

The Robertson site team and sub-contractors who were working on our Dundas House refurbishment project for BlackRock, assisted Cyrenians with improvements and upgrades to the garden space.

AHF Construction Management installed extensive paths throughout the garden, while FES added wiring to the office space. Robertson installed insulation, which was kindly donated by CCF.

The improvements have transformed the environment for visitors, including veterans and their families, who can visit the space to enjoy stress-free time in the outdoors, and improve mental wellbeing.

This work builds on our ongoing commitment to the armed forces community which was recognised earlier this year through the Armed Forces Covenant Silver Employer Award.

Thank you so much for the work that's been put into the garden! It really has made a huge difference to the people we can now support on a daily basis. Having proper paths has allowed us to make more use of the space, and having power and heat in the office is amazing!
