At one time one of the most modern, integrated medical and dental campuses in the UK, some four decades later it was time to update facilities to create an environment fit for the delivery of modern dental care. Spaces were reconfigured to make way for four assessment rooms, 14 dental surgery rooms, recovery bays, new waiting rooms and improved support areas, all within the existing footprint.

The scheme is one of the first capital projects to incorporate the Trust’s new design templates developed by Medical Architecture. A series of standard specifications and design items were developed and approved which allow future capital projects to follow a similar pattern, establishing a ‘brand’ and a standard going forward.

The refurbishment provides a high-quality, clinical setting that matches the outstanding service provided for patients.
