Originally launched in September 2012, Everton Free School is a community scheme backed by Everton Football Club that caters for young people aged 14–19 who have, for various reasons, become detached from traditional schooling.

Its school building on Spellow Lane in Liverpool was opened in 2014 after refurbishment and reconstruction work on the site. The school includes a teaching block, sports hall, a covered 'street' running through the complex and a curving creative block, which was built close to the existing buildings.

Everton Free School and Community Hub then contracted Robertson Facilities Management to provide Total FM services. Total FM services include caretaking, cleaning, estates management, hard grounds maintenance, helpdesk, pest control and portering.

The school also functions as a community hub and has opened during summer breaks to provide opportunities to young people. In addition, the Trust use the sports hall outside of school hours to provide activities such as ‘walking football’ to local residents.
