The application, if approved, will see outline planning for 31 new high-quality affordable dwellings on a vacant brownfield site north of Ryefield Avenue, Johnstone and an improved active travel route from Ryefield Avenue to Longmeadow.

The proposed development includes a mix of terraced and cottage flatted houses as well as accessible housing in the form of single storey bungalows.

Matt Collins, managing director, Robertson Partnership Homes, said: “The proposed properties will cater for a range of tenants and provide much needed affordable housing for the area which will incorporate low-carbon energy generating technologies resulting in more efficient homes.

“This will be our first project with Linstone Housing Association which we hope will result in an ongoing relationship that will enable Linstone to contribute to the Scottish Government’s target of providing 100,000 affordable homes by 2032.”

The proposed site is allocated for housing in the Council’s Local Development Plan and is set to achieve Secure by Design accreditation upon completion.

Jamie Irvine, housing chair, Linstone Housing Association, said: “We are delighted to see plans for our site in Ryefield starting to progress and we look forward to providing more homes for social rent in this area. Linstone appreciates support from the Scottish Government and from Renfrewshire Council for this planned development.”

Designed and landscaped open space is included as part of the proposal.

Procured through the Scottish Procurement Alliance, construction works are anticipated to begin in Spring 2022.

Development services have been provided to Linstone Housing Association by North West Partners, a strategic partnership between Maryhill Housing and Queens Cross Housing Association, which was established to provide cost effective regeneration services.
