Partnering to deliver community facilities

BAM Construction were appointed to construct the new community facility. The project was procured through the hub East Central Scotland framework, with additional funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund and The Carnegie Dunfermline Trust. It is one of a series of public private sector partnerships that have delivered major new facilities across Fife. The associated benefits of these projects include local employment initiatives, training opportunities, and the involvement of local SMEs.

Richard Murphy architects designed the new museum and art gallery to integrate with the surrounding historic buildings, including a B-listed bank and the B-listed Dunfermline Carnegie Library. The new building houses a museum over two floors, three temporary exhibition galleries, a café, a new children's library and a local history, study and archives space.

Plaster and render

Robertson Specialist Division carried out the majority of the plasterwork, as well as cornice repair works, formation of internal arches and finishing of the external balcony soffit in a grey render.
