In this initiative, Robertson will return to its roots as our founder, Bill Robertson CBE, is a former Elgin Academy pupil. The scheme will offer pupils a series of unique opportunities, including work placements, site visits, employability skills sessions and competitions.

It was launched with a project for all S3 pupils to design a climber’s retreat, the partnership will help pupils develop skills to help them on their way to their chosen career, be it in construction or any other field.

We are committed to making a positive impact on the communities where we operate

– Fraser Edgar Group Marketing Director of the Robertson Group, :

“Our business was started 50 years ago this year in Elgin and Robertson is rooted here, so it is fantastic that we can make such a positive contribution towards the futures of our young people.

“We have made a five-year commitment to this programme through the Developing the Young Workforce initiative and we’re looking forward to helping Elgin Academy pupils gain the skills that will prepare them better than ever before for their potential careers.”

We look forward to the many exciting opportunities which lie ahead for our young people in developing their careers.

– David Barnett, head teacher

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Robertson with the shared aim of developing the young workforce. The fact that Robertson has its roots in Eglin provides that special piece of added relevance for our students.

Robertson is very proud of its roots in Elgin and we’re really enthusiastic about working with the academy.

– Jade O’Hara, young people’s champion at Robertson

“Our first competition with the school will be open to S3 pupils, but we are working on a number of projects to lead a curriculum of employability based activities. As part of our commitment, we will be offering pupils the opportunity to join our teams through a unique work-ready programme"
