Robertson, the privately owned portfolio of individual companies working in construction, investment, development and facilities management has secured significant new investment following a deal with 3i Infrastructure plc, a FTSE 250 infrastructure investment company.
The deal with 3i Infrastructure, worth almost £40m, will see 3i owning 49.9% of the newly formed company, Elgin Infrastructure Limited. This company will hold long term public sector investments. The remaining 50.1% of the company will be held by Robertson.
Robertson Capital Projects, Robertson Group's investment business has been central to formulating the deal. The business was established over ten years ago and is a project management and investment company responsible for developing long term partnerships providing public sector education, health, housing and social care infrastructure throughout the UK and Ireland and currently manages a capital programme of over £1bn.
The deal was concluded on 29 January 2010.
Commenting on the landmark deal Robertson, Executive Chairman, Bill Robertson said: "This is probably one of the most significant deals I have been involved in since I set up Robertson 44 years ago. The investment will support our growing activity in the public sector market and justifies our ten year commitment to the PFI/PPP market place."
